Russia, 1707-BK Copper 1 Kopek of
early Peter I times. Variety with dots at 12 o'clock on both sides and dot after date.
Uzdennikov-2282, exact variety with dot after the date is unlisted. Graded by NGC as
Choice Extremely Fine XF-45 Brown, which is very high grade for this early issue.
It is minted on a very large size flan and is quite impressive in hand. Uzdennikov in
his note 103 specified that "...Kopeks of 1707 ... have flans of different diameter
within the limits of one denomination and one weight standard..." We believe this is
the case with this coin. Texts on the coin are well and easily readable and there is
not much wear at all. Rare opportunity to acquire this very historic and very
collectible coin.
