Condition & Luster: A
brilliant, "blast white" specimen with exceptional eye appeal. The surfaces possess a
high degree of original mint luster, offering a crisp, silvery brilliance that is
increasingly difficult to find on this large-diameter issue. Strike & Surfaces:
Struck at the Bombay Mint ("B" mint mark in the center prong of the trident).
The design features a sharp strike on Britannia's shield and the intricate oriental
fretwork on the reverse. The surfaces are very choice for the grade, with a few
light, grade-consistent bagmarks that do not distract from the overall GEM-like
appearance. Light clahed dies effect is noticeble mostly on Reverse and mentioned for
accuracy of decription. Technical Note: Unlike many examples that were harshly
cleaned and hairlined or developed "sea salvage" surfaces, this dollar remains
undamaged, untoned and bright. It represents a high-tier example for the collector of
British Colonial, Oriental or silver crown-sized coinage. 26.96 g., 0.900 Silver
0.780 oz. ASW, 39 mm.
